Cool

Ah yes, a few days until we bring 2006 to a close and begin year 2007. We will all look forward to a Happy New year in 2007 and look at it as a year in which "things will be better or get better or at least not get any worse "
And yet, we clebrate the passing of the old year as much as we welcome in the new one.
Soooooooooooooooooooo...
We are now all faced with the dilema of what to do on new Years eve. Now, Bars, restaurants and clubs are places where many go to ring in the new year (I'm pretty sure they are ringing the peace bell again this year) but many dont like to be out and about that night, especially if they have kids. Well, the kids might even want to take part.
You could celebrate twice if you have a party at home. Turn one clock ahead so you can let the kids count it down early before they conk out for the night. Maybe just watch one of the various countdown shows and news retrospetives on tv (after Da Bears game of course LOL!)
New years eve often represents a night of opportunity. Many look for that "first kiss of the new year" as a way of starting things off right. A toast to the year gone by and the one ahead are always a good idea as well. As you walk down memory lane through all that happened in 2006, you may be saying goodbye to many things that happened both good and bad. You may be waving a fond farewell to some things while you are wishing good ridance to others. There is a good chance that you will be putting some episodes of your life further back into the archives that is your life story. At the same time that you distance yourself further from the things of the past you will be gaining ground on the future and will continue to try and move forward. yes 2007 screams opportunity as all new years do, it is to be welcomed with optomism and as a door openeing to many new adventures in your life. 2006 may not have been a great year for you, but it's time to put it in the past and move on. Do yourself a favor and head into 2007 with anticipation of anything and everything. Think about all the fun that lies ahead. Dotn wallow in what went wrong in 06 take that huge step into the new year knowing that you didnt just turn the page of the calender, you entered a whole new calender altogether.
Or, you could just run around naked screaming happy nude year after too many cocktails!

Happy New Year!

Free cab rides New Year's Eve
THE ENQUIRER
AAA and MADD are offering a free cab ride to impaired drivers beginning at 4 p.m. New Year's Eve until midnight Jan. 1 anywhere within the Interstate 275 loop.

The phone number to request the service is (513) 768-FREE.

Since 1997, when AAA Cincinnati and MADD teamed up to sponsor the program, more than 1,100 people have received free rides over the New Year's holiday, according to AAA.

"Alcohol is involved in nearly half of all highway deaths, and about four of every 10 Americans will be involved in an alcohol-related collision some time in their lives," Sandra Guile, AAA public relations coordinator, said.

The cab ride, provided by Towne Taxi, is free to the caller as long as they are calling from a public establishment and taken to a private residence.
